 Dee Henry

Briefly: During her tenure at Biola, Coach Dee Henry's teams have produced a national singles champion, a national champion doubles team, and a national runner-up team. Biola's tennis USPTA teaching pro, Dee Henry recently received certification for teaching wheelchair tennis. She has provided a year-round teaching program for students and community players for more than 2 decades.

Mrs. Henry is on the board of Directors for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association ITA and is an active member in the USTA . She was honored by the Southern California section of the USTA with service awards in 1987, 1993, 1996, and 2001 in recognition of outstanding service with adults and juniors. Coach's 1990 women's team was a Recipient of the Volvo Tennis Community Service award. Biola was selected as the 1993 USTA/NJTL Section Chapter of the Year for SCTA.

Coach Henry was honored by the California Division of USPTA as their 1997 Coach of the Year and as Handicap Pro of the Year in 2001 and the 2008 Special Needs Coach of the year. Coach Henry, with the assistance of the team, participates in a wide range of special community service events. As a result of these contributions Coach Henry received the 1999 USTA Collegiate Community Service award by the ITA. In 2003, she was the recipient of the Sectional USTA/ITA Campus Recreation Award.

On Feb 7th , 2005, the Southern California Tennis Association presented Dee Henry a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her life-long contributions to the sport of tennis in Southern California. Coach Dee Henry was the 2005 National Winner of the USTA/ITA Campus Recreation Award. She is one of six recipients of the 2006 USTA Eve Kraft Community Service Award.
