Nichols’ aggressive, baseline style of play earned her Honorable Mention All-Sunshine State Conference. She solidifies the middle of the Tars’ starting lineup. Reached the quarterfinals of the ITA Small College Southeast Region Tournament in the fall of 2003. She posted a 22-10 record in her debut season as a Tar, playing mostly at the number four position. Teamed with Jill Oppenheim late in the season to go 9-2 in doubles. Hails from Orlando’s Lake Highland Prep. Led her team to a second-place finish at the state finals. Nichols was undefeated in the district and regional championships as a singles player for four years. Named Orlando Sentinel Player of the Year in 2002.
