Albion College completed action in the back draw of the Great Lakes Colleges Association Tournament with a 5-2 victory over The College of Wooster. It was an important regional win for the Britons as the Scots came into the match ranked 18
th in the Central region rankings.
Albion jumped out to a 3-0 lead by winning the doubles matches. In the first flight, Brandon Still (Grosse Pointe Woods/Grosse Pointe North) and Jon Vandenberg (East Grand Rapids/East Grand Rapids) scored an 8-1 victory over Dave Albrechta and Ethan Arenstein. Andrew Lulek (Canton/Detroit Catholic Central) and Ben Miller (Carmel, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory) defeated Grant D'Augustine and Pat Grab, 8-3, in the second flight. Chris Atallah (Farmington Hills/Detroit Catholic Central) and Brent Parshall (Grosse Pointe Park/Grosse Pointe South) completed the sweep by shutting out Chris Collen and Ben Edwards in the third flight.
Lulek and Miller won their singles matches in straight sets.
Albion returns to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action Tuesday, April 15, when it meets Tri-State University in a 4 o'clock home match.
