Albion College remained undefeated against its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals in women's tennis as it scored a 7-2 victory over Kalamazoo College inside the Ungrodt Tennis Center on Saturday.
The Britons got off to a fast start by winning all three doubles contests. Michelle Mulder (East Grand Rapids/East Grand Rapids) and Mara Rendina (Monroe/St. Mary's Catholic Central) turned in their best performance since being teamed up in the second flight as they scored an 8-1 victory over Geneva Garcia/Kari Larson. Sisters Anna and Emily Gundersen (Whitehall/Whitehall) won the third flight match by an 8-1 score over Amanda Goumas/Becky Thomson.
Shelley Zamler (Beverly Hills/Groves), Vic Seiter (Grosse Pointe Farms/Grosse Pointe South), and the Gundersens were victorious in singles action. Emily Gundersen is 14-0 in her spring singles contests.
Albion will play its final two MIAA regular season matches next week as it meets Tri-State University at home on April 17 and travels to Calvin College on April 19.
