 April Reed

April Reed is in her 13th year at Azusa Pacific, serving as the head athletic trainer and assistant athletic director for the university's 19-sport program.

Reed returned to her alma mater in 1999 after serving in the athletic training programs at Mt. San Antonio College and California Institute of Technology. With a keen eye for order and clarity, Reed quickly grew Azusa Pacific's athletic training program into one of the best and most respective sports medicine operations in all of the NAIA. She has more than doubled her staff with full-time, fully certified ATCs, and has added four graduate assistants to the program.

A respected speaker at national seminars, Reed serves on numerous national committees and is currently the president of the NAIA Athletic Trainers Association. She is also a member of the College Sports Medicine Foundation Advisory Board, and the Cramer Sports Medicine National Advisory Council.

The first Azusa Pacific female athlete to earn All-Golden State Athletic Conference in two different sports, Reed and was 3-time All-GSAC honoree in softball and a 2-time selection in soccer. As a 1994 senior, she was named an NAIA Academic All-Scholar Athlete in both sports.

She graduated from Azusa Pacific in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in psychology, and earned her master's in kinesiology: sports medicine and injury studies from Cal State Long Beach in 1998.
