Women’s Tennis vs. Chaminade

Waipio, HI—The third-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team blasted Chaminade today, 9-0, for their 11th straight win.  The Seasiders won the three doubles matches handily and swept all six singles matches in straight sets to improve to 11-0 for the season.
       BYU–Hawaii’s Yuan Jia and Elwen Li breezed to an 8-3 win at number one doubles while Shawni Porter and Ayako Ikeda took an 8-2 win at number two.  Jenny Chin and Salina Aranda scored an 8-1 win at the third doubles position.
       Li won 6-3, 6-0 win at number one singles and Jia won 6-2, 6-0 at the second spot.  Ikeda triumphed in a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at number three, and Porter took a 6-2, 6-0 decision at the fourth spot.   Chin earned a 6-1, 6-2 win at the fifth position for the Seasiders and Aranda scored a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at the sixth slot.
       The Seasiders play again on Thursday against Chaminade in Laie at 1:30 pm HST.
