Bettles Takes Down Ranked Opponent at All-American Championships
TULSA, Okla. – Boise State men’s tennis junior Andy Bettles defeated No. 57 Dane Webb of Oklahoma in straight sets during the second round of ITA All-American Championships qualifying, Tuesday.
Bettles took down Webb in the first set, 7-5 before going on to seal the match with a tiebreak win of the second set, 7-6. He will go on to face Duke’s Michael Redlicki in the third round, Wednesday, with the winner of that match advancing to the main draw field.
Bettles paired with fellow junior Nathan Sereke in doubles play as well but the duo fell in the first round against Isade Juneau/Sam Monette of Indiana, 8-5.
