BOISE, Idaho (5/12/2015) - Boise State senior Garrett Patton has been named the Intermountain Region Senior Player of the Year by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as released from the organization's headquarters Tuesday morning. Patton was the lone Bronco recognized regionally by the ITA, it is also his first career regional honor.
Patton just completed his final campaign in the Blue and Orange leading the Broncos to their fourth-consecutive Mountain West Championship and fourth-straight berth into the NCAA National Tournament. The Boise native is a two-time All-Mountain West honoree earning the recognition in doubles as a junior and for singles as a senior this season. He has also been a success in the classroom having earned Academic All-Mountain West recognition three times, a fourth is expected when those honors are released by the conference in June.
The senior completed his final year with a team-best 24-10 singles mark, including going 3-3 versus nationally ranked opponents and 11-2 against Intermountain Region competition. Patton finished with an impressive career singles record of 91-45 (.669) during his four-years. In doubles he went 21-15 as senior and 72-72 overall.
