Hi Cal Tennis Fans,
The 10th-ranked California women's tennis team (15-4, 7-0 Pac-12) will host a pair of pivotal Pac-12 dual matches this weekend, when top-ranked UCLA (20-0, 7-0) and No. 4 USC (18-2, 7-0) visit Hellman Tennis Complex. The Golden Bears and the undefeated Bruins take the court for a 1:30 p.m. PT match-up on Friday, April 13. They then face the Women of Troy in a noon bout on Saturday, April 14.

If we have a rainout either day, we will play the makeup match at 12 noon on Sunday. Please check on www.calbears.com for updates. We would love to see you out cheering on the #10 Golden Bears this weekend in between the rain showers!
Some facts about the matches this weekend:
Cal will have a shot at revenge when it hosts its Southern California visitors. The Bears were edged, 4-3, in each of their early season non-conference duals against these teams in Los Angeles. Senior Jana Juricova was unavailable for both of those matches, not to mention the two subsequent matches that Cal lost. Each of the Bears' four losses has been to a team ranked in the current ITA top six.
Since that four-match skid, Cal has been on a tear, winners of its last nine outings. It is the longest winning streak for the program since an 11-match streak carried the Bears to the 2009 NCAA title match. The Bears' 7-0 Pac-12 record is also the team's best start in league play since the 1985 squad completed an 11-0 season to win the NorPac Conference title.
On the topic of streaks, several Bears are currently riding winning streaks in individual singles and doubles matches. The longest of those streaks belongs to No. 81-ranked sophomore Anett Schutting who has won 10 consecutive singles matches to push her individual mark to 28-6 on the year.
12th-ranked freshman Zsofi Susanyi received her second Pac-12 Player of the Week award for her play last weekend when she extended her singles winning streak to nine matches and became the first Bear this season to reach the 30-win plateau. She is now 30-4 with a 14-2 record in dual matches.
Though she sat out the last two matches, eighth-ranked Juricova still has a nine-match winning streak intact and has not lost this spring, in singles or doubles. No. 99-ranked junior Annie goransson also has a nine-match singles winning streak going, and is 28-6 on the year (15-2 in duals). Sophomore Alice Duranteau has won each of her last eight singles matches, and freshman Cecilia Estlander is on a five-match run. 55th-ranked junior Tayler Davis has posted 22 victories this season, and delivered the clinching point in Cal's 7-0 win over Arizona State on April 1.
In doubles play, Cal's 17th-raked duo of Goransson and Schutting has not lost since March 3, and is undeafeted in its last eight outings. The duo is 23-4 this season, with a 14-3 mark in dual matches. Juricova and Susanyi, who form the nation's 43rd-ranked tandem, are 13-1 on the year, and currently own a 10-match winning streak that dates back to Jan. 13. They are 8-0 in dual matches.
