Larry Jacobs is currently in his fifth year as the tennis coach at Centenary College. Jacobs, who is pursuing a masters in education, came to Centenary in the fall of 1997 after graduating from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County with a BA in sociology.
Prior to attending UMBC, Jacobs spent a year at Lewis and Clark Junior College where he qualified for nationals in both singles and doubles competition by winning the Southern Illinois sectionals.
Jacobs also spent three years as an instructor and director of the Columbia Association's Tennis and Golf Camp where he was instrumental in the development of the tennis program.
Jacobs is excited about the upcoming year after a successful 2001-2002 season, which included individual victories over Oklahoma and UTEP while participating in various tournaments.
This year's men's program is led by All-Southland Conference player Caleb Ashley along with returning players Nathan Bridges and Brian Roberts and four freshmen.
Larry and his wife Michelle reside in Shreveport.
