 Doug Rowe

The Hamilton College athletic department recently hired Doug Rowe as the new head men's tennis coach for the 2005-06 season.

Rowe was an assistant for the men's tennis team at his alma mater -- The Catholic University of America -- during the fall season in 2001. Most recently, he taught tennis to 20 students during the summer.

Rowe, who hails from Trumbull, Conn., and lives in Syracuse, played tennis at Catholic from 1998 to 2001. He was the team's MVP for the 1997-98 season and was a four-time member of the Capital Athletic Conference's All-Academic Team. Rowe was also a member of the USTA 4.5 Connecticut state men's league champion Stratford Stingers in 2001.

Rowe earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in English literature from Catholic in 2000 and 2002, respectively.
