Cavett beginning his seventh year as the women's tennis coach.
"I feel like our team is capable of competing with the best teams in the NAIA and have shown that over the past two seasons.
Cavett has over 25 years of coaching experience. He is a former Cleveland State Community College tennis coach, and served one season as the Lee assistant tennis coach before being named to the head coaching position in 1997.
Cavett is also the current teaching professional at the Cleveland Country Club, and has directed summer tennis camps for the City of Cleveland since 1974.
"We have a fine group of young women making up our tennis program," said Cavett. "We are very pleased that academically we are usually superior to most of our opponents.
He added, "Competition in the SSAC will be as furious as anywhere in the nation.
We are blessed with outstanding tennis facilities, and that has helped us land several quality players. If we can establish ourselves in the SSAC, we should be able to play with anyone in the nation."
A 1975 graduate of Tusculum College, Cavett received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Organizational Management. He also holds a Applied Science degree from Cleveland State.
