Friday, 04/13/2012

BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s tennis team (11-10; 4-6 SEC) will face Arkansas (10-12; 2-8 SEC) to conclude the regular season on Saturday in Dub Robinson Stadium beginning at 1 p.m. CT.

The match also marks Senior Day as Whitney Wolf and Olivia Howlett will be honored prior to the match before they take to the friendly confines of Dub Robinson Stadium for the final time.

“This is a huge match for us,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “Whitney Wolf and Olivia Howlett have both done a lot for our program so it would be nice to send them off in the proper manner.”

The Lady Tigers currently sit in third place in the SEC West standings a match ahead of Auburn (8-11, 3-7 SEC), and LSU owns the head-to-head matchup having defeated Auburn earlier in the season.

Howlett and Keri Frankenberger are tied for the team lead with 11 dual match singles victories on the season, and Yvette Vlaar is right on their heels with 10 solo triumphs to her name.

Wolf and Frankenberger have 10 doubles wins together this spring, while Howlett and Vlaar have nine as a pair.

LSU owns an 18-14 advantage over Arkansas all-time.
