Neal Cassidy enters his third season as head men's tennis mentor at LC, while also assuming the duties as women's coach. He is a 1993 graduate of Lynchburg’s Brookville High School.

Cassidy was a standout tennis player at Brookville, and later at Hampden-Sydney College, where he graduated from in 1997 with a psychology degree. The Tigers were nationally ranked in all four seasons of Cassidy’s career. He excelled in singles competition, starting all four seasons between the third and sixth positions. Cassidy was an All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference selection in his senior season.

Cassidy is the ODAC committee chairperson for men's tennis, and hosted and run the 2002 ODAC Men's Championship Tournament at LC. He was named the ODAC Coach of the Year after leading the Hornets to a second-place finish. Cassidy works as a tennis pro at Siasconset Club and Casino on Nantucket Island (MA) during the summer months.
