 Albie Collins
Albert Collins is in his fifth season as Manhattanville’s Head Men’s Tennis Coach, looking to make the Valiants a regional presence in their first season as members of the Freedom Conference.

Manhattanville played in the Skyline Conference during the first four seasons of Collins’ tenure, with the Valiants making appearances in the league tournament in each of the past four seasons. Collins’ Valiant team advanced to the Skyline Conference Finals in 2004 and into the Semifinals each of the last three years. Through four seasons at the helm, Collins’ career coaching record sits at 24-36.< BR>
Four Valiants have earned All-Conference honors under Collins, including 2007 freshman Hugo Robinson, who was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year. Collins’ 2007 Valiant team was made up almost exclusively of underclassmen but still managed to win seven times, one shy of the 2004 team that won eight times, the most victories for any Collins coached team.

A native of Forest Hills, N.Y., Collins played four years of college tennis at Dartmouth, helping the Big Green go undefeated as a senior and earn the number one ranking in New England. In 2005, the Ivy League renamed its championship trophy the Albie Collins Trophy for Collins’ undying support of tennis in the Ivy League.
