Ben Porter joined the Valiants as an assistant tennis coach with the men's and women's programs in January 2007 and was named Head Women's Tennis Coach in August 2007.

A native of London, England, Porter came to Manhattanville after a stellar collegiate career at Division III Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C.  In three seasons, from 2002-04, Porter led the Monarchs to three conference championships, earned First Team All-Conference honors six times and posted a combined 80-22 record as a singles and doubles player.

A United States Professional Tennis Association certified Level 1 professional, Porter has been working since the summer of 2002 as the Director of Junior Tennis at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, Conn.  Porter has also served as the Head Junior Professional at the Twin Lakes Indoor Club in Stamford, Conn. for the last two years and has coached and traveled with a number of gifted junior players in his native England.

Porter, who graduated from Methodist in 2004 with a degree in Business Administration, currently resides in Greenwich, Conn.
