CARY, N.C. - It was a day of close matches at the ACC tournament quarterfinals for the No. 54 NC State men's tennis team, but No. 25 Miami won the match 4-3, on Friday, April 17, in Cary, N.C. The Hurricanes won the doubles point and two singles matches as the Pack won three singles matches, to leave the match up to the No. 5 singles. Senior Jay Weinacker and freshman Jaime Pulgar were the only Pack duo to win their doubles match, defeating David Simon and Christian Blocker, 8-2, at No. 2. The win was the 18th for the pair this season, becoming only the second duo in NC State history to win that many doubles matches in a season.
