Kissell Named to All-ACC Team
Thursday, 10/25/2012
RALEIGH, N.C. -
NC State sophomore
Joelle Kissell
was named to the 2012 All-ACC Women's Tennis Team, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford. The honor is the first for Kissell, who is currently ranked nationally in both singles and doubles action.
Kissell, who has compiled a 15-8 record on the season, is ranked No. 31 in singles action in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll. She has defeated seven ranked opponents this season, including No. 16 and No. 20.
Kissell and teammate
Ashley Miller
made their first appearance in the doubles poll this week, coming in at No. 76.
The honor marks the third consecutive year that NC State has placed a player on the All-ACC team.
Sanaa Bhambri
made the team last season, while Sandhy Nagaraj was on the team in 2010.
NC State defeated Boston College on Thursday, April 19, and will take on No. 1 seed Duke on Friday, April 20 at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
