 Marty Gilbert
Head Coach Marty Gilbert, who has led the Philadelphia University men’s tennis for eight seasons and the women’s tennis team for the past seven years, returns for the 2003-04 campaign. A year ago, Gilbert’s Lady Rams squad finished with a 14-8 mark while the men’s team posted a 6-13 record.

With the 14-8 record last season, Gilbert has now posted a stellar 74-36 mark with the women’s team. This includes a school-record 16-2 performance in 1999 that culminated with the NYCAC Championship.

Prior to coaching at the University, Gilbert compiled a sterling 73-36 mark as the head men’s coach at Haverford College from 1973 through 1980. From Haverford, Gilbert went on to serve as the national coach and director of the Israel Tennis Center in Jaffa/Tel Aviv, Israel, from 1987-1996.

As a player himself, Gilbert posted a career 33-1 mark at Temple University, earning All-ECAC honors. He was inducted into the Owls’ Hall of Fame in 1986
