 Duncan Howell

Duncan Howell enters his 3rd year as an assistant tennis coach at Rhodes in 2005-06. Howell is a 2003 graduate of Rhodes with a degree in Economics, and played tennis for the Lynx for 4 years. During that time, he was named All-SCAC 1st Team in his last 2 seasons, and was a part of the Rhodes team that qualified for the NCAA National Tournament in 2002 (the 1st time in program history) and again in 2003.

In addition, Howell and his doubles partner, Andy Campbell, qualified for the NCAA National Tournament as individuals in both 2002 and 2003, becoming the first players in Rhodes men's tennis history to reach the individual NCAA tournament. During his senior year, Howell was a team captain and also assumed responsibilities as a player/coach.

During the summers of 2000 and 2001, Howell served as a Staff Professional at the Vicksburg Country Club (Vicksburg, MS--his hometown). There, he coached a USA Team Tennis team and helped run a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Little Tennis program. He spent the 2002 and 2003 summers as a Staff Professional with Athletic Management Professionals, Inc. (AMP) (Concord, NC). There, Howell helped to achieve the AMP vision of bringing a professional organization to a small town community. In February of 2003, he received his USPTA teaching certification.

Currently, Howell is a teaching pro at the University Club of Memphis.
