Marcella Houseal is beginning her 13th year at Rhodes College as assistant tennis coach in 2005-06. In addition to coaching the tennis teams, she is in charge of recruiting and also runs the Rhodes Summer Tennis Camps.

Houseal is a 5th degree blackbelt and, along with Hatgas, teaches karate at Rhodes and off campus at a private school in Memphis. During the winter months, she works in the admissions office at Rhodes.
 
Houseal is a graduate of the University of Memphis, where she earned both her bachelor and master's degrees. She has taught in the city's public and private school system for many years. She is a native Memphian who, like other Memphians, is extremely proud of Rhodes College for the excellent academic, athletic, and social quality of life made available to the student population.

Houseal's son, John, is a recent graduate of Rhodes and was a member of the Rhodes Tennis Team while enrolled here.
