The Timothy R. Korth Tennis Complex
The Timothy R. Korth Tennis Complex was recently rated as one of the nation’s top public facilities for 1992 by the USTA. The Korth complex was one of eleven winners of the annual award which serves to recognize architechural design in public tennis facilities. First opened in the winter of 1990 as part of the college’s $52.2 million dollar capitol campaign, the complex was funded by Regent Howard Korth and his wife, Gerry, of Oakland, in memory of their late son Timothy. During the last 10 years, the courts have been the setting for such prestigious tournaments as the ITA Regionals, the men’s and women’s West Coast Conference Championships, the ITA SMC Women’s Tennis Invitational, the NorCal USTA Teams Competition and the North Coast Section High School Playoffs.
