One of the top players in Stetson history, Marcus Echtler begins his second season as an assistant coach with the Hatters.

Echtler, a Stetson Athletics Hall of Famer, lettered four year at Stetson (2004-08) and was a four-time first-team All-Atlantic Sun Conference performer. The 2006 A-Sun Player of the Year, Echtler advanced that season as an individual to the NCAA Championships. He was the first player to represent both Stetson and the Atlantic Sun Conference at the NCAA individual championships.

"Having Marcus on the coaching staff is a great asset," said Stetson head coach Christophe Noblet. "He was one of the best players ever at Stetson and his passion for the school is infectious. But more importantly, he is a fantastic communicator and knows how to motivate people. His contribution is priceless.”

A native of Venice, Fla., Echtler spent his Stetson career as the Hatters’ No. 1 singles player and was a part of the No. 1 doubles team all four years.
