The Ouachita Baptist University Tiger tennis team, under the direction of head coach Craig Ward, was ranked eighth in the nation in the final NCAA Division II men’s national rankings.

The Tigers finished the 2004 campaign with an overall record of 13-7.  Six of those seven losses came against three of the top five teams in the nation to finish the year.  The Tigers’ season was ended in the second round of the NCAA National Tournament when eventual national championship runner-up Valdosta State knocked the Tigers out of the bracket.

The Tigers will return three rising juniors for the 2005 team and also had two freshman on the team in 2004.  Seniors Andre Edwall, who finished the season as the 42nd-ranked singles player in the nation, and Pierre Perez are the only two players who have exhausted their eligibility.
