ALLENTOWN, PA. -- On the first day of the 2008 CSAC Women's Tennis Individual Championships, Gwynedd-Mercy had a great showing, advancing to the finals in eight of the nine flights which will take place tomorrow.

The Griffins will have all three doubles pairs advance to the championship round. Alana Rumpel and Chelsea Donde will play in the #1 Flight. Erin Fallon and Davida Phillips in the #2 Flight and Ashley Bowie and Jess Scarpello in the #3 Flight.

Rumpel (#2 Singles), Fallon (#3), Donde (#4), Bowie (#5) and Amy Rock (#6) all won their semifinal match and will play for a medal on Saturday. Phillips was the only casualty, falling to top seeded Priyanka Reddy at #1 Singles.
