College Tennis News - Wingate athletics has a new home on the world wide web at http://www.wingatebulldogs.com/

    Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University athletic department has a new home on the World Wide Web: www.wingatebulldogs.com! Powered by Internet Consulting Services, Inc. (ICS) will highlight Wingate’s 17-sport athletic program.

            “We are grateful to ICS for helping us make this web site a reality,” Wingate University Assistant Athletic Director for sports information and game operations David Sherwood says. “I want to personally thank (Wingate University) administrators Dr. Jerry McGee, Mr. Chuck Taylor and Mr. Steve Poston for their vision and support as we have navigated this process.”

            The web site contains features and applications that will bring Bulldog alumni and fans closer than ever to their favorite teams and student-athletes. Features include:

Simpler and Easier Navigation with a better organized homepage so fans are just one click away from every major section of the site.

            Rotating Headines allow Bulldog fans the opportunity to view multiple lead stories daily, with a picture and teaser for three lead stories.

            Monthly Calendar, Scrolling Scoreboard and easy sign-ups to receive Wingate E-mail newsletters and score text updates, allowing family, friends and fans easier access to Bulldog news.

            In addition, the web site will be the new home for the Wingate University Sports Network and its video and audio broadcasts. The Network, which covers football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, lacrosse and tennis, partnered with ICS (video) and Stretch Internet (audio) for more than 100 broadcasts in 2008-09.             “I am grateful to assistant SID Hugh Patton for his hard work,” Sherwood adds. “The Wingate University Sports Network and broadcasters Ryan Brown, Wayne Shadrick and Drew Boone gave invaluable assistance and support throughout this process. Wingate graduate assistant Chris Bohach and senior Sarah Mackintosh deserve praise as well.”
