BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit is in full swing, and Indiana has had a great showing in the two regional events thus far in the summer, winning a combined four tournament titles. Rising sophomores Maxime Armengaud and Stephen Vogl have led the way for IU, each claiming a singles title, and the pair joined forces for a doubles crown. Indiana’s number one doubles combination last season, rising junior Santiago Gruter and rising sophomore Jeremy Langer, also posted a doubles tournament win.

Competing in the Midwest region, Armengaud took the singles crown at the Western Michigan University tournament. Entering as a top-eight seed, the Nice, France, native claimed six straight victories to pave his way to a tournament title. He met a familiar foe in the championship match, as he defeated Gruter 6-4, 6-2.

Gruter didn’t leave the tournament empty-handed though, as he and Langer returned the favor, defeating Vogl and Armengaud by an 8-6 score in the doubles final for a tournament crown of their own. The doubles combination scored four straight victories for the win.

At the University of Michigan tournament, Vogl won six matches for his singles title. He took down Devin McCarthy of Ohio State in the finals (7-6, 6-2). He then won four straight doubles matches with Armengaud for another championship. They took the final match nine games to seven.
