CORAL GABLES, Fla.- The No. 12 University of Miami women's tennis team made their return to the courts on Tuesday, defeating the No. 61 Princeton Tigers by a final score of 6-1.

The match pitted Miami coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews against her former player and current Princeton head coach Megan Bradley-Rose. Bradley-Rose played three seasons at Miami and was a two-time All American.

Miami got to work early, grabbing the match's first point by claiming two back-to-back doubles victories. Gabriela Mejia and Lina Lilekite improved their undefeated doubles record to 12-0 by downing the No. 54-ranked tandem of Katie Goepel and Rachel Saiontz 8-3. At the third doubles position, Anna Bartenstein and Brittany Dubins took down Princeton's Chow/Flanigan duo 8-5. The No. 28 combination of Liat Zimmerman and Melissa Bolivar were upset by No. 29 Hilary Bartlett and Lindsay Graff at No. 1, falling 8-5

In singles, Bolivar wasted no time taking care of Katherine Flanigan at the No. 4 position. The quick 6-0, 6-1 victory would put the Hurricanes up 2-0.

No. 20 Anna Bartenstein followed Bolivar's victory up by defeating No. 87 Hilary Bartlett in No. 1 singles play 6-2, 6-3. The senior has now won her last nine singles matches, all in straight sets.

It was Miami's No. 3 singles player, Lina Lilekite, that claimed the match's decisive fourth point, securing the match for the `Canes . The freshman earned a 6-4, 6-3 decision over Rachel Saiontz.

Princeton claimed it's sole point of the day as Miami's Brittany Dubins fell to Katie Goepel in three sets. Dubins and Goepel battled back and forth, trading the first two sets 6-4, but Goepel edged out the sophomore 10-8 in a tie-break.

The Hurricanes will turn their attention to their fourth conference opponent of the season, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The match between the two teams will take place tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
