Three Huskies earn First Team honors for the first times in their careers.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – The Husky men’s tennis team proved its academic acumen today, leading the conference with four selections to the Pac-12 All-Academic Team. Washington earned three of the eight First Team selections, also most in the conference.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be a significant contributor, as well as be in their second full year at their institution.

The three Dawgs on the First Team all earned the honor for the first times in their careers. Senior Matt Stith was eligible for the first time this season with his starting role in doubles. The fifth-year Dawg is graduating with a 3.41 grade point average majoring in Business Administration.

Sophomore Max Manthou picks up his first First Team honor. The Tacoma native tied for the team lead in dual singles wins with 16, and he posted his first 20-win season with a 21-9 record. Manthou carries a 3.72 GPA.

Also earning his first spot on the All-Academic Team is redshirt freshman Nicholas Kamisar. His 3.75 GPA is the third-highest on the All-Academic Team. He is a Pre-Social Science major. Kamisar went 19-10 in his first season of college competition and was 13-6 at No. 6 singles for the Huskies.

Honorable mention went to junior Kyle McMorrow, his second straight honorable mention.
