TULSA, Okla. - Boise State men's tennis junior Andy Bettles won his third-consecutive match at the ITA All-American Championships qualifying by defeating Duke's Michael Redlicki in three sets, Wednesday.
After he let the first set get away, 2-6, he rallied back to win the next two sets, 6-2 and 6-4. Redlicki was ranked the best newcomer in college tennis by the ITA.
Bettles will face No. 80 Max Wennakoski of VCU, Thursday, in the opening round of the main draw which fields 64 of the best players in the country.
"It's part of our legacy to always get guys in the main draw which is like the NCAA Championships for the fall," said Boise State Head Coach Greg Patton. "Andy can make some big jumps in the national rankings in this tournament and now he is playing the best of the best."
