PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Texas senior Aeriel Ellis suffered a straight-set defeat Thursday in the opening round of the main singles draw at the ITA All-American Championships, one of three national championship events on the college tennis calendar.
The two-time All-American fell to Penn State’s Petra Januskova by a 6-2, 6-4 count. Ellis was making her fourth consecutive appearance in the main singles draw at the ITA All-American Championships.
Ellis will enter the singles consolation draw and compete again Friday against an opponent to be determined. Ellis’ match is set for 2:30 p.m. Central.
