CLEMSON, S.C. - Two women's tennis athletes were in action this weekend as freshmen Mimi Fotopolous and Tiffany Tavares took part in the Duckworth Fall Tennis Classic on the campus of Clemson University Friday.

Tavares battled to a comeback victory over Olga Kalodzitsa from Armstrong Atlantic University 1-6, 7-6, 7-5 in the first round of flight two singles. With the victory, she moves into the winners bracket where she will compete at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Fotopoulos fell to Virginie Stein of Kennesaw State University 6-3, 6-2 in the first round. She will also continue play at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The duo combined for flight one doubles competition where they dropped a tough 8-3 proset to Lauren Kline and Alex Moreno-Kaste from Furman University.

The pair will be back in action on day two of the Classic Saturday morning.
