HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's tennis team returns to action this weekend to resume fall tournament play at the USTA/ITA Regional Championship at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Junior Dionne Sanders and sophomores Liselot Koenen, Elena Kordolaimi and Charlotte Phillips will compete for the Cougars and will face some of the region's top talent in a field that includes Baylor, Lamar, North Texas, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, UT Arlington, UTEP, UT-Pan American and UTSA.

Koenen and Phillips and Kordolaimi and Sanders will partner in the 64-player doubles draw while also competing in the 128-player singles draw.

All four Cougars have performed well this fall while each contributing to a flight title. Phillips, who holds a 5-2 singles mark, made an impressive run through the consolation draw at the Longhorn Invitational, posting straight-set victories over opponents from UTSA, LSU and West Virginia to claim the title.

Kordolaimi is coming off of a stellar performance at the Razorback Classic, knocking off opponents from Tulsa, Arkansas and Stephen F. Austin to claim the singles flight title and increase her singles mark to 4-1.

Sanders, who has claimed three wins in singles play this fall, kicked off the season-opening Auburn Invitational by teaming up with Celia Fraser for a doubles victory before withdrawing due to injury. Koenen picked up where she left off, claiming two more victories with Fraser to secure the doubles flight title.
