GREENSBORO, N.C. - NC State's Joelle Kissell was named to the 2012 All-ACC Women's Tennis Academic Team, as announced by the conference office on Thursday.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during her academic career.
Kissell, a rising junior, is majoring in communication.
The honor tops off a breakout season Kissell, who ended the year ranked No. 32 in the nation in singles, and No. 81 in doubles. She was selected to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship this season, where she became just the second player in school history to advance to the second round.
Kissell's selection marks the fifth straight year that NC State has had a netter selected to the All-ACC Academic Team.
