OHIO VALLEY REGIONAL RECAP

Last weekend at the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional, three Vols took part in the action with senior Kata Szekely and junior Brynn Boren competing in both the doubles and singles finals.

Boren and Szekely paired up to capture the doubles championship, the third season in a row that the Lady Vols have won the title. The duo squared off in the singles final with Szekely getting the best of her junior teammate.

With the wins, Szekely and Boren earned a spot in the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships in doubles play and Szkeley earned an automatic qualifying spot in singles. Boren will look for an at-large bid.

HOSTING ONCE AGAIN
The Lady Vols have not hosted a fall tournament on campus since the 2009-10 season when they played host to the St. Mary’s Tournament from November 6-8 which brought Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and East Tennessee State to Knoxville.

The Lady Vols did host the Ohio Valley Regionals at the Knoxville Racquet Club from Oct. 14-18, 2010 during the 2010-11 season.
