COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The LSU men's tennis team picked up six wins during singles play Saturday on day two at the Conference Challenge hosted by Texas A&M at George P. Mitchell Tennis Center and Omar Smith Tennis Complex.

Six different Tigers earned a win on the day that featured two rounds of singles matches.

"It was very encouraging because everybody fought hard," LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. "The level that Tam Trinh played at was encouraging. Roger Anderson is continuing to build momentum. We will have a lot of options going into the spring to fill out our lineup."

No. 58 Chris Simpson was one of four Tigers to earn a first-round win. Simpson defeated SMU's Mischa Nowicki in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

Trinh beat highly-touted Texas A&M freshman Harrison Adams, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4, and fellow LSU freshman Boris Arias saved five match points as he rallied to beat Oklahoma's John Harry Warden in three sets, 2-6, 7-6(6), 6-2. Joe Hill picked up a win when Oklahoma's Larry Formentera retired when trailing Hill 4-0 in the first set.

Roger Anderson and Harrison Kennedy recorded second-round victories as Anderson defeated Nowicki, 6-3, 6-2, and Kennedy beat Warden, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.

LSU will wrap up play at the Conference Challenge with third round action Sunday in both doubles and singles. Doubles play will begin at 9 a.m. CT, and singles will follow at 10:15 a.m.

Matchups will be announced prior to the start of competition Sunday morning.
