Scholnick, Smith Win Titles in Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. - Sophomore Andrew Scholnick and freshman Jordan Smith won the black and white singles titles, respectively, on the last day of the Pacific Tigers Invitational on Sunday. Scholnick beat Pacific's Ben Mirkin, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (5), while Smith knocked off USF's Jonathan Knowlman, 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.
Cal played in another final on Sunday. But the duo of Scholnick and freshman Wyatt Houghton withdrew from the match against Cal Poly's Naveen Beasley-Jurgen DeJager due to illness.
In a round-robin doubles match, the pair of Scholnick and Smith lost to Cal Poly's Jordan Bridge and Matt Thomson, 8-2.
