Sophomore Robin Anderson (Matawan, NJ/Matawan Regional HS) of the UCLA women's tennis team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 5-11.
Anderson became just the second player in school history to capture the singles title at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Sunday in Flushing, N.Y. Anderson, the tournament's No. 5 seed, downed Cal's Anett Schutting, 6-3, 6-4 in the final. Anderson did not lose a set in her five wins at the Indoors. She joins 1995 Indoor champion Jane Chi as UCLA's only other winner of the event, which is one of the most prestigious in all of college tennis. In addition to her title, Anderson also won the tournament's Sportsmanship Award.
This is Anderson's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and third of her career.
