HONOLULU - Seventh-ranked California swept its singles matches and won three out of four doubles matches on the opening day of the Weinman Foundation Invitational on Saturday at the UH Tennis Complex. The Golden Bears' singles victories included seventh-ranked sophomore Zsofi Susanyi topping Hawaii's Katarina Poljakova, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (6), and ninth-ranked junior Anett Schutting defeating Hawaii's Martina Kostalova, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.

 
Also in singles, Cal sophomore Laura Posylkin beat Hawaii's Daisy Green, 6-2, 6-3; senior Tayler Davis made quick work of Hawaii's Xenia Suworowa, 6-0, 6-2, and played a second match, beating Hawaii's Kelly Domingo, 6-0, 6-1; 109th-ranked freshman Lynn Chi beat Hawaii Pacific's Karen Ramirez-Rivera, 6-1, 6-2; freshman Klara Fabikova defeated Hawaii Pacific's Celina Goetti, 6-1, 6-2; sophomore Cecilia Estlander beat the Rainbow Wahine's Kelsey Daguio, 6-2, 6-1; and junior Kelly Chui defeated Hawaii's Paulina Petriskoya, 6-2, 6-1.
 
In doubles, the Cal pair of Chui and Estlander beat Hawaii's Daguio and Rebecca Faltusz, 8-2; Schutting and Chi knocked off the Rainbow Wahine's Petriskoya-Kostalova by the same score, 8-2; and Susanyi-Fabikova prevailed over Hawaii's Poljakova-Suworowa, 8-4. The 59th-ranked Cal doubles team of junior Alice Duranteau and Posylkin fell in an upset to Hawaii Pacific's Ramirez-Rivera and Lelyzaveta Rybakova, 8-2.
 
The three-day event continues on Sunday, with matches starting at 11 a.m. Hawaii Time/1 p.m. PT.
