LOS ANGELES - With dual match play beginning next week, the UCLA women's tennis team kicks off 2013 at a pair of individual tournaments this weekend, as members of the team heading to events in both Palm Springs and Las Vegas.

Associate head coach Rance Brown will take four players to Las Vegas for the Freeman Memorial Championships, which is hosted by UNLV and played at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on campus. The players headed to Las Vegas are Chanelle Van Nguyen, Kyle McPhillips, Pamela Montez and Courtney Dolehide. Dolehide and Montez are the defending doubles champions at the event, as they downed USC's Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria in the championship match in 2012. The other teams competing at the tournament include: Florida, USC, Stanford, North Carolina, UNLV and Oregon.

Four other players are headed to Palm Springs this weekend with head coach Stella Sampras Webster for the National Collegiate Tennis Classic at the La Quinta Resort & Club. The four Bruins competing at that event will be Catherine Harrison, Kaitlin Ray, Robin Anderson and Skylar Morton. The other three teams will be North Carolina, Stanford and USC.

Draws for both events are not yet available.
