PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The No. 13 nationally ranked Ole Miss men’s tennis team kicked off the spring season Friday at the National Collegiate Tennis Classic, posting four wins on the day, including a big win in doubles.
The day began with the No. 25 ranked team of William Kallberg and Adrian Forberg Skogeng knocking off No. 5 Ben Wagland and Hernus Pieters of Georgia 8-7(3). Johan Backstrom and Stefan Lindmark defeated the Georgia duo of Garrett Brasseaux and Marco Nunez 8-4.
In singles, Kallberg picked up another solid win in his sophomore campaign, downing California’s Chris Konigsfeldt, ranked No. 42 nationally, 6-3, 6-3. Forberg Skogeng defeated Casey Kay of Georgia 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 for the other singles win.
