PALM SPRINGS, Calif - Campbell Johnson led No. 14 California to victory in singles and doubles against his former team - No. 6 Georgia - on Saturday in the National Collegiate Tennis Classic at the JW Marriott Desert Springs. The junior defeated Marco Nunez, 6-3, 6-1, and paired with senior Christoffer Konigsfeldt to upset fifth-ranked Hernus Pieters and Ben Wagland, 8-4.

Johnson played two seasons for the Bulldogs before transferring to Cal.

Also in singles, junior and No. 66 Ben McLachlan lost to Georgia's eighth-ranked KU Singh, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, while Konigsfeldt fell to Mississippi's Stefan Lindmark, 6-0, 0-6, 6-4.

Ben McLachlan and senior Riki McLachlan lost a thriller to Johan Backstsrom and Stefan Lindmark of Ole Miss in doubles, 8-7(10-8).

The National Collegiate Tennis Classic ends on Sunday.
