BERKELEY - With qualification to the prestigious ITA National Women's Team Indoor Championship at stake, seventh-ranked California will host the ITA Kick-Off Weekend from Sunday to Monday, Jan. 27-28, at the Hellman Tennis Complex. The Bears welcome No. 41 Saint Mary's, No. 51 UNLV and No. 59 Fresno State for the event.

Cal won the 2012 ITA Kick-Off Weekend event at Hellman to claim entry into the ITA indoor tournament.

This year's version of the event will feature some of the best players in the nation, including - in singles - Cal's seventh-ranked Zsofi Susanyi, a sophomore, ninth-ranked junior Anett Schutting, 109th-ranked freshman Lynn Chi and 110th-ranked senior Annie Goransson; 20th-ranked Aleksandra Josifoska of UNLV; and No. 64 Jenny Jullien of Saint Mary's. In doubles, the nationally ranked teams include No. 32 Schutting and Goransson as well as No. 59 junior Alice Duranteau and sophomore Laura Posylkin of Cal. (The singles and doubles ITA rankings are as of Jan. 3.)
