Columbus, Ohio - The fourth ranked Buckeyes defeated Cleveland State, 4-0, to improve to 4-0 on the spring season.
 
Buckeyes vs. Vikings
Connor Smith clinched the victory for the Buckeyes with a win vs. Joe Vanmeter 6-1, 6-2. Smith and Chris Diaz also won their doubles match, defeating Jorg Van Der Vloet and Jay Jones 8-1. Devin McCarthy and Ille Van Engelen won the other doubles match over Vanmeter and Nolan Marks 8-4. In singles competition Hunter Callahan won vs. Marks 6-2, 6-2 and Constantin Christ did not drop a set against Jones 6-0, 6-0.
 
Tough at Home
On the early season the Buckeyes have shutout three of their four opponents. The lone point they have surrendered at the VTC came in a 6-1 victory over Xavier Wednesday Jan. 16.
 
Quick Turnaround
The Buckeyes have one day off before hosting the ITA Kick-Off Weekend event Saturday and Sunday. The Buckeyes open play vs. ETSU at 10 a.m. Saturday. Miami (Fla.) and Louisiana-Lafayette will play the second match of the tournament Saturday afternoon. The winners of the two matches Saturday will meet Sunday for the right to compete at the ITA National Indoor Championships Feb. 15, in Seattle, Wash.
