LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Lady Raider head tennis coach Todd Petty recorded his second Top 25 recruiting class in the last four years, according to TennisRecruiting.net.
The 2013 recruiting class has been ranked 15th nationally, earning the highest ranking in program history. The previous highest ranking came in 2010, when the class was ranked 19th nationally.
This year’s recruiting class features just two players – Lynn Kiro of South Africa and Beatriz Machado Santos of Lisbon, Portugal. Kiro is currently ranked third in South Africa and No. 144 in the world and Machado Santos is ranked eighth in Portugal and No. 1,031 in the world.
The 2010 recruiting class, which was ranked 19th, featured current Lady Raiders Samantha Adams, Nikki Sanders and Rashmi Teltumbde.
Texas Tech returns to action this weekend in Tucson, Ariz., as the No. 21 Lady Raiders face No. 30 Arizona and No. 56 Sacramento State.
