WACO, Texas - The 14th-ranked Baylor men's tennis team will travel to Tulsa on Sunday to face the 22nd-ranked Golden Hurricane at 1 p.m. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

"It is a big match for us," head coach Matt Knoll said. "It is really our first match against a team with a high talent level. They have been to the Sweet 16 two years in a row and have a really mature team, so it is going to be a huge challenge for us."

Baylor (2-0) is coming off a 7-0 dismantling of the SMU Mustangs that saw BU take five of the six singles matches in straight sets. The Bears will look to keep their momentum going as they face a team with two ranked singles players in No. 34 Japie De Klerk, and No. 69 Alejandro Espejo.

Baylor comes into the matchup with three ranked singles players including Marko Krickovic at No. 50, Julian Lenz at No. 53, and Mate Zsiga at No. 60. The Bears also have the No. 47 ranked doubles team of Marko Krickovic and Robert Verzaal.

Baylor is also expected to welcome freshman Julian Lenz and senior Roberto Maytin back into the lineup.

"It is always good to have your team together and that is one of the things that has been tough this year is that we haven't had our guys healthy and together," Knoll said. "That is going to be a huge boost for us if we can get everyone out there."

Tulsa is 2-3 on the season, but has recorded two straight victories. On Friday, TU downed No. 37 Minnesota, 4-3, after getting a 4-2 win on the road at No. 16 Illinois on Jan. 27. The Golden Hurricane suffered three losses to start the year with each defeat against a top-25 opponent.

Baylor leads the all-time series vs. the Golden Hurricane 4-1, but Tulsa won the last match between the two schools, 4-3, on April 11, 2012 in Waco.

Following the match at Tulsa, Baylor will return to Waco to start a three-match homestand. The Bears will open that stretch with a 1 p.m. match vs. Purdue on Feb. 9.
