SEATTLE -- The Huskies improved to 4-2, knocking off No. 36 Santa Clara on Friday night at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. Washington cruised to a 4-0 win over a quality opponent, taking the doubles point and then clinching the win with three-straight singles matches.
Washington started strong, winning the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and 3. Viktor Farkas and Jeff Hawke quickly took care of their opponents at No. 3, 8-3. Hudson Barhart and Max Manthou then clinched the point by winning, 8-5.
In singles, Nicholas Kamisar earned a point, winning 6-1, 6-2, over Eugene Muchynski at the No. 6 spot. He was followed by Kyle McMorrow who also won in straight sets to improve to 6-0 in duals this season. McMorrow won 6-4, 6-3, over John Lamble for his 84th career victory.
Finally, Emmett Egger clinched it for the Huskies, defeating Tom Pham, 6-1, 7-6. The final three matches that were in progress were not finished.
Next up for Washington is No. 38 Boise State on Sunday, February 3, at noon. The Dawgs continue their homestand at the Nordstrom Tennis Center as they to avenge last season's loss in Boise.
