• Senior Evan King's 6-0, 6-1 win over No. 2-ranked Matija Pecotic gave U-M's top singles player a win over the highest ranked opponent of his collegiate career, eclipsing his three-set win against Illinois' No. 4-ranked Dennis Nevolo last April.

• King has won seven straight matches and is 10-3 overall this season. He has faced ranked opponents in eight of those 13 matches.

• The Wolverines secured the doubles point for the third time in four matches.

• Junior/sophomore Justin Rossi made his first dual-match appearance since May of 2011. Rossi missed the dual portion of last season due to injury.

On senior Evan King's win over No. 2-ranked Matija Pecotic ... "It was an incredible result. Pecotic is good; everything I have heard about him is that he is an unbelievable competitor, and that he has beaten some really good college players. That was a very impressive win. Evan didn't have a very good fall, but I don't think anyone perceives him as an unranked player, and he won't be any more after that one."

On redshirt sophomore Justin Rossi's first dual match since May of 2011 ... "I thought he did a great job. He competed really well and was really positive, which was great to see. I know he is disappointed he didn't win, but I can also tell that he is pretty happy to have this experience again. No one loves tennis more than Justin and to have that basically taken away from him for a year and a half was hard on him. It was nice to see him out there competing again."

On his mindset entering tonight's match against No. 2-ranked Matija Pecotic ... "I was definitely excited about the opportunity coming into the match. It is not every day that you get to compete against a top-five opponent. I was focused in practice and knew I had to play well to beat him. I just trusted my practice and went after it tonight -- and it worked."

On beating Pecotic in straight sets ... "I was in my own world. The crowd helped and supported me during the match. I thought I served really well, was disciplined during the match and didn't make too many bad decisions."

On winning seven consecutive matches ... "I don't think about it. I go into each individual match focusing on that match and trying to win that specific one. I'll take the undefeated spring so far, but I know I'll have a tough match on Sunday as well."
