NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Fresh off a thrilling 4-3 win over No. 21 Michigan last Saturday, the No. 25 University of Notre Dame men's tennis team makes the all-too familiar trip to Columbus, Ohio Saturday for a showdown with No. 4 Ohio State at the Varsity Tennis Center.

The Irish (6-4) are making their fifth trip to Columbus in three seasons. They played regular season and NCAA Championship matches there in both 2011 and 2012, suffering losses to the highly ranked Buckeyes each time.

Notre Dame is coming off a big 4-3 win over then-No. 21 Michigan at the Eck Tennis Pavilion. Playing a key role in the win was junior Billy Pecor, who was named BIG EAST Men's Tennis Player of the Week for his efforts. The Houston, Texas, native went 2-0 in singles and doubles during the week in matches against then-No. 7 Kentucky and the Wolverines. Against Michigan, Pecor was the last match on with the score tied at three. With all eyes in the Eck on court four, Pecor defeated Michael Zhu, 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, to clinch the victory for the Irish.

The Buckeyes (10-2) are coming off an impressive semifinal showing at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, where they swept California and Pepperdine, 4-0, before falling to then-No. 1 Virginia in the semifinals.

Leading OSU are four ranked singles players in Peter Kobelt (No. 2), Connor Smith (No. 30), Chris Diaz (No. 37) and Blaz Rola (No. 62) and a ranked doubles team in Kobelt and Smith (No. 36).
