COLLEGE STATION, Texas - For the second time in his young career, Texas A&M freshman Harry Adams has been named SEC Freshman of the Week honors for men's tennis, the league office announced today.

Adams, from New Braunfels, Texas, clinched three points for the team this past weekend against Tulsa and Oklahoma. Adams bested Tulsa's Alejandro Espejo, 6-2, 6-4, on Friday night and upset 119th ranked Dane Webb of Oklahoma, 6-4, 6-4, on Sunday to improve to 8-2 on the season. His eight singles wins have him tied with fellow freshman, Shane Vinsant, for the team lead.

With the two wins, Adams improved to 6-0 from the No. 3 singles line and 7-2 over his last nine matches.

In doubles, Adams, with partner Vinsant, went 1-0 over the weekend, defeating Tulsa's Grant Ive and Tristan Jackson, 8-2. The seventh ranked pair improved to 6-2 in doubles and is 5-1 against ranked opponents.

Adams and the rest of the men's tennis team will be in action again on Friday when they begin conference play against South Carolina. First serve is slated for 4 p.m. (CT). To learn more about the men's tennis team, visit AggieAthletics.com and follow @
